"green" acne treatment?

What works well for acne?

Re: "green" acne treatment?

  • I'm anxious to read these responses, my Free & Clear acne gel is one of the few chemical-laden things I still use.

  • I've had a lot of success with Burt's Bees Natural Acne Solutions, I use the moisturizer and the spot treatment when something pops up. The spot treatment is seriously amazing, I dab it on a few times a day when I can feel a zit under the surface and I've stopped quite a few from showing up at all. I use basic facial cleansing bars, Neutrogena in the morning and Soap for Goodness Sake's Ylang Ylang beauty bar at night.

  • seriously, tea tree oil! haha. the pads, are fantastic. they don't dry your face out at all, but they get it nice and clean. sometimes, i skip washing my face and only use the pads. i wasn't so sure about the tea tree oil cleanser, but it was great as well. i started using the pads 2 years ago? and haven't had a break out since. generally, i used to be prone to oil blemishes and really deep rooted oil deposits. but not anymore.
  • The only thing that has worked for me is accutane.
  • A few months ago, I found something great at Whole Foods. Desert Essentials Thoroughly Clean Face Wash. It has tea tree oil and sea kelp in it. Living in the desert myself, moisturizer is a must. So when I do get a pimple here or there, I use an astringent on the pimple only after I moisturize.

I agree- Thoroughly Clean Face Wash is SO awesome!  It keeps my face so clear. The Tea Tree oil really helps keep any breakouts away!  It is a little drying...so if you have dry skin...make sure you get the dry skin formulation.  Right now they have a promo code for the Dessert Essence web site- 25% off (got it in an email). The code is DENEW and it is good until 7/31. :)
