Wow- I'm making Federal Minimum Wage Now...
I'm a state employee and I just found out that the Governator ordered our wages get cut to FEDERAL minimum wage- a whopping $7.25/hour. Both me AND my H. So that is a whopping $2436 between the both of us next month- before taxes, medical, etc...
So just subtracting my union dues and health care costs, that is about $2106 before taxes... so that is around $1500 after taxes. I can't even pay my mortgage on that, let alone drive to-and-from work... H's gas is about $600/mo. Mine is about $250/mo. I literally won't be able to afford to go to work. This should be fun- really ups my motivation to be here let me tell you.
Don't worry about tomorrow. After all, today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday. Take each day as it comes...one at a time.

Yup... I will be making a whopping $7.25/hour.
The State Controller has a lawsuit and is saying he won't pay us minimum wage unless the Supreme Court orders it... we should be hearing their decision any day now.
But as of right now- $7.25 / hour... I think I need to go to work full time at my 2nd job and just call in sick for a month here, lol!
My job would be affected too, but I'm trying not to worry about it just yet.
He tried this before & a judge was quick to strike it down.?
