Traffic this weekend

Just read this on ajc.com:

Officials with the state Department of Transportation warned that the holiday travel rush could begin on metro highways as early as 1 p.m. on Friday, particularly on the Downtown Connector, on I-75 in Cobb, Henry and Clayton counties, on the northern arc of I-285, on I-85 in Gwinnett Couty and on Ga. 400 in both directions.

It made me LOL...doesn't that cover pretty much the whole metro area? Except...Stone Mountain/Lithonia? Haha. Maybe it's good that I'm staying put this weekend. (Holler for the Peachtree Road Race!)

Happy Fourth of July weekend to everyone!

Re: Traffic this weekend

  • ..... and thus we stay our a$$es at home! We'll go no further south than Barrett Pkwy.
  • That's why we leave at 6 am tomorrow Big Smile Lucky me I get to sleep all the way while DH drives.
  • I was supposed to leave 45 minutes ago but my DH forgot to put the clothes in the dryer and now we have to wait for that to finish (it has clothes that we need in it).  SO FRUSTRATED!!!

  • We were in Atl on Friday, driving back to middle GA around 5:00 PM - and actually, it WAS worse than we usually see on 285 and then 75 going through Clayton and Henry - but even worse in the northbound lanes (I guess the ppl were heading for the mountains)

But then, I'm not an Atl resident, so I could be talking outta my rear end here. It did look pretty bad, though.
