? about apps on iPod Touch....

I have an iPhone so I'm familiar with using apps on an iPhone, but I have a question about apps for iPod Touch.  I'll have access to 6 or so of them in my classroom next year.  I've used them in my classroom before and put videos on them, but I haven't put any apps on them yet.

Do the iPhone apps work on a Touch?  When I go to the app store, it has links on top to click on for iPhone and iPad.  Do I just assume that all the iPhone apps will work on a Touch?  We do have wifi at work so I assume the Touches can use the Wifi if I put the password in.

Also does anyone have any recommendations for education apps?  I'm compiling a list of the apps that look good and so far it looks like there are some great education apps!  I'm really excited.  The kids are going to LOVE it.
