Splash Pads?

DS LOVES the water but going to our apartment pool where there isn't a baby area makes it kind of hard.  He plays on the stairs a little but that's it.  Are there any good splash pad areas with fountains kids can play in?  DS loves these!

Re: Splash Pads?

  • I know at the zoo the Children's Zoo has a fountain for kids to play in, and the Children's Garden at the Botanical Gardens has one, but these both cost money.

I have heard that the City Garden downtown has one, and it's free. I don't know of any others, but I am sure there are some. Hopefully someone else can help you out!

  • Children's Zoo is free if you get there by... 9 or 10?  I can't remember.

And the Botanical Gardens are free if you get there before noon Saturdays (all year) or after 5pm Wednesdays (only during the summer.)

  • Zachary's Park in Lake St. Louis has a cute fountain area.
  • There are splash pads (free) at the following public parks that I know of:

Tilles Park (McKnight and Litzinger in Brentwood/Ladue area)

Des Peres Park (Ballas and Manchester)

Creve Coeur Park (off of Olive)

Tower Grove Park  between Kingshighway and Grand and north of Arsenal in the City (operates at least on Saturdays, and it's a combo splash pad/wading pool; I think there are lifeguards)

There's one in Ellisville somewhere, too, but I'm not familiar with that area.

City Garden downtown is a lot of fun for kids.  It's a sculpture park with lots of interactive water features.

  • Millennium Park at Olive and Mason

The Ellisville Aquatic Center has one too that is supposedly awesome. They have play for kids 6 and under every Monday and Thursday morning 10-1130, $3 per kid to get in.
