I'm just answering, so I can come back to this post. I just got my first Iphone 3GS yesterday. I'm in love.

My friend told me to download Word for Friends (like scrabble)
There's supposed to be a bar code reader that will tell the price of the same item at other places that want to download.

I also highly recommend the iphone tips and tricks app if you are just getting started they have a free one and then there is a $.99 one. I like the second one - I have had my phone a year and I learned a few things!
I'm in England so a few of yours won't work for me...but I did download and already love word for friends (have played four games so far).
- facebook, twitter have been handy
- downloaded wordpress for my blog so I can blog on the go
- a few food apps (only London based)
- for games, I also downloaded a few: square lite, bubbleXplode, bejeweled 2
I'm loving it!
the smack talk app sold the phone to me. it's the most useless app ever....yet people cant help but giggle every time i turn it on. its good for a pick me up when i'm having a bad day!
