LA Girls Meet-up!

I'm so excited that this is going to happen!  What works best?  Weekdays or weekends?  I think we should set it out a couple weeks so the lurkers can stop by and see.  Maybe sometime between July 22nd - 25th.  Let's figure this out!

Re: LA Girls Meet-up!

  • Hooray! I vote for weekends.  Saturday July 24th  (day or night) works very well for me.  Do you have some good ideas for a meet-up spot?

    Very excited! :D

  • Well, it sounds like we are all over Los Angeles, so maybe something central?  Does hollywood area work for most people?
  • saturday the 24th works great for me too. i think maybe a lunch date would be a good idea, but i don't know the area well enough yet to suggest any spots :) i'm excited too!
  • I would love to meet LA Ladies!  But, I'm not going to lie, I'm nervous about  BSC psycho-killers!
    Life's a beach!
  • i think a lunch time that weekend sounds good too. I really like the restaurant in Santa Monica's Corona Del Mar hotel. The food's fine, but the atmosphere is the best - bright, sunny, and great ocean view. I've seen women have baby showers and bridal showers there all the time. For Hollywood, I think Magnolia restaurant on Sunset might be nice - they have a nice outdoor back area. Or I can think of 2 places or so on Larchmont that are good too. Larchmont is also central. I also read a good review of Rockwell VT in Los Feliz, it's an outdoor lounge behind the Vermont restaurant that's supposed to look really nice. According to yelp it's open on satuday 10-2 (?) or something like that. 26 Beach in Venice is amazing for brunch, and very cute atmosphere. I also like Square One Dining near Los Feliz, very yummy food, straight from the farmer's market. I also really like Mimi's Cafe in Los Feliz off the 5 freeway - it's a chain, there are maybe 3-4 in SoCal, but it is quite inexpensive compared to some of the places I've mentioned, and their muffins are delicious. Well, anyway, those are my ideas, looking forward to this! Does anyone have any other places in mind?
  • what does BSC mean?
  • Bat *** Crazy
    Life's a beach!
  • lol well hence the public location :)
  • Ok no BSC people please!

How about Le Pain Quotidien on Melrose.  It's right next to Urth Cafe, but easier to get a big table.  They serve healthy sandwiches, salads and soups.   And it's not too far North or South for anyone.  What do you think?

  • Le Pain works for me - love their chicken curry tartine! - but I can't do Saturday evening (Hollywood Bowl concert), so it would have to be a lunch for me.

Great idea!  There's been a lot of cool new blood around here.  :)  Let's get this board back on track!

  • I have no food suggestions (I live in the SFV), but I'd love to come whenever a place is chosen. July 24 works for me. Smile
  • Sounds good!!  Now we have two weeks to get to know each other!
    Life's a beach!
  • I may have to work that weekend, but if not I'll try to meet up with everyone!
