jumping on the cooking ? bandwagon :)
I am making scalloped potatoes with dinner tomorrow night. The recipe I'm using calls for 1.5 cups of heavy cream & 1/2 cup of whole milk. Is it ok to just use the same measurements (2 cups total) of half & half?
Re: jumping on the cooking ? bandwagon :)
Based on the other recipes I viewed online, I'd say yes, you can just do half & half.
I think the 2 c. of milk was meant to thin out the heavy cream, but that's kinda what half & half is, so it should still turn out okay.
Are you going to put cheese in yours? Potatoes and cheese are practically my favorite foods, so I LOVE it when they're combined.
