How was your holiday weekend?

DH and i had yesterday off, so today is like our Monday. But it's a short week! And so was last week! Woo hoo!

We really did a whole lot of nothing, but saw quite a few movies! Friday night we went and saw Cyrus with friends then went out for Italian afterwards. Saturday i finally saw Sex and the City 2 with my friend and went out to Max Brenner's afterwards. Sunday we went to Riviera Club with friends to watch the Red Sox game, then we all went out for ice cream, then we all went out for another drink! Monday DH and i watched Twilight: New Moon from Netflix, then went out and saw Knight and Day then back at home we instantly watched Zombieland on Netflix.

All movies were really good and entertaining! Except New Moon... (sorry, Mrs. Kocal ;) ). It was just really slow and painful. But i hear that Eclipse is way better! :D

Re: How was your holiday weekend?

  • You didn't like New Moon?!?! I'm surprised...I really enjoyed that one! I hope you like Eclipse!

It sounds like you had a great weekend! =)

Sat: I went to my sis's house to swim with her and the kiddies, while DH ran errands (he doesn't like to swim...weirdo lol).

Sunday: We went to DH's sis's for a BBQ and then returned yesterday for leftover's (we were all off from work as well). Unfortunately, DH's dad is back in the hospital (he was diagnosed with Lung cancer about a month or so ago). I feel terrible for my husband...I can't imagine life without my dad. =(  He's in the hospital I work in, so I'm gonna head up and see him in a few.

Today: We finally close on our house today...I'll be so glad once that's over! My advice to anyone looking to buy a house...DON'T buy a starter house! If you don't plan on being in the house for at least the next 20-30 years, then rent and save more money to put down on said house! Ours was just too smal to raise a family and we couldn't see ourselves being there any longer than 5 years. =/ Hind sight is 20/20.

Anyway, have a wonderful Tuesday all! =)

  • Saturday, we went to upstate for DH's aunt's birthday. There were so many people, and it was so loud, but it was insanely fun. I love big crazy family gtg's.

Sunday, we decided to go to my ILs' for a bbq and a dip in the pool (they bought a kiddie pool, but we managed to fit two adults and Sasha in there, so it was nice and cool)

And yesterday, we did a whole bunch of nothing most of the day. It was just so ridiculously hot out! We did go to BRU for an hour or so to pick up some things, but overall a good lazy ending to a crazy weekend!

  • New Moon was TERRIBLE! (lol, sorry girls. I actually LMAO when KStew cried in bed)  I've heard Eclipse is pretty good though.

Saturday we went to my mom's and had dinner with her, my stepfather, and a couple that they're friends with (who I've know my entire life.)  Then went home and took a nice walk with Lily.

Sunday - BBQ at the ILs, watched Valentine's Day (horrible)

Monday - ran to Costco with my SIL and relaxed

  • Great weekend.  Spent some time with my mom.  I ate and drank my way through the weekend.

On the 4th: Went to a friends for a BBQ.  Ate lots of food.  H was making mojitos, I had some homemade beer, lots of fruit salad, homemade PB cups.  Played some bocce, badminton.  Had some small fireworks stuff.  Sat around the fire.

Then watched my friend jump the fire in his underwear.  He made it over the fire, but then slipped on the landing. Fell right on his ass.  We have video (on FB if you are interested).  It's hysterical. Especially in slo-mo.

  • Glad everyone enjoyed their weekend! Big Smile I had a good relaxing weekend too.

  • We had a nice weekend as well! Friends of ours came to visit and stay with us. It was really nice, we hung out, went to the Brooklyn Flea Market, went to Governors Island, DH and friend made home brewed beer and we saw a teensy bit of the fireworks from our roof on Sunday.

Yesterday DH and I relaxed, I got my hair cut!! We just hung out at home and tried to stay cool!
