I'm so frustrated with my bank right now. I swear I have the absolute worst luck with stupid bank thing happening to me!
We were using our savings account to make a lot of our online payments. And apparently you can only do so many transactions per month in a savings account. I exceeded that, instead of giving me a fee, they CLOSED MY ACCOUNT WITHOUT CALLING ME!!!!! They just transferred the banlance to my checking.
The worst part of all is that I made a payment to our credit card the same day! And my damn cc payment wasn't due for a week, I was making it early.
I called my cc and they said just have ING fax a letter saying that ING closed the account, not me. So I call ING and the guy was a total d!ck and said there was nothing they could do to help me and sorry but they don't do individual letters for people based on individual problems. I told him that I couldn't be a customer for a company that couldn't help their customers and he told me "fine." I'm not even asking them to pay the cc fee, I just need a gd letter that would take 5 seconds to type and another 10 seconds to fax.
Re: Uggg! So frustrated!
Exactly! I told the guy, I get it, I understand what I did wrong, but I don't think emailing me that you've closed my account is good customer service. I suggested that when making transactions maybe they could have something pop up to tell you that you are on #5 of 6 transactions or something to let you know that you are about to exceed this. His respones "Oh, that's a great idea, I'm going to submit that through our employee suggestion program." OMG glad I could help you!
I cannot believe you did not get a warning letter because honestly I had no idea about that law until it happened to us. We were using paypal buying a lot of stuff before Davis was born, having it taken from our savings account. We got a warning letter from Charter One stating we made over the amount they allow each month. I cannot remember the number so say they only allow 4, well we went over by 1 or 2, so I think we made 5 or 6 direct payments from the savings. Anyways, they charged us a small fee, I think it was $35 and slapped our hands for doing it and stated the next time it happened the account would be closed without our consent. After that we got it, we never did it again but we had no idea until we got that letter.
Your bank sounds like they are being a bunch of asshats!!! I'd be fuming.
I asked why I never got a letter of warning and he said they don't send letters out. He said they sent an email, but I went back to my email and searched for it, I never got anything. I told him I would have preferred a fee in this case and he said "But that's what's great about us, we don't charge fees for anything." OMFG driving me nuts.
I called again and asked for a manager. He said he would email me a letter I could fax to the CC company, but I have yet to receive anything. Blurg!
