Think I am Getting the SKids Interested in Local Eating
My skids and I got fresh peas from the farmers market today and used them in pasta carbonara this evening. We also got fruit to make ice creams and sorbets.
They thought it was so cool that we were eating veggies at dinner that were picked less than 24 hours ago at a farm less than an hour away.
They are already talking about plans to get their mom to visit the farmers market in their town to get fresh fruits and veggies.

That's great! I don't know how old they are, but when age-appropriate, could they read "Animal, Vegetable, Miracle" by Barbara Kingsolver? I loved it! My MIL got me "Eat Where You Live" for Christmas; that's another good resource for how to eat locally.
