a crib crisis-

Ella keeps shoving her chubby legs and arms between her crib bars! The last two morning's we've been awakened by her screams because she's stuck. (really stuck!) Any suggestions? btw- the crib has padded bumpers that came with her bedding.

Re: a crib crisis-

  • Awe....poor Ella.  Katie did that once.  I have the breathable bumpers on too, but she pushed them down and got her little chubby leg stuck.  I wish that they had bumpers that were rubber and went around each little pole that made it a smaller gap.
  • Oh now I'm bummed. I was hoping the mesh bumpers would work but now I'm wondering if she could move these too. Maybe I can buy the bumpers and make it so it's really tight, like re-sew it-(if need be)- so she can't really move them? (just thinkin' aloud)

  • Poor Ella & Katie!  I don't have any real advise expect to maybe try NO bumpers at all.  Maybe the girls just want to see if they can push thru, then get thru and get stuck.  If there isn't anything there, then maybe they won't be interested anymore in messing with the bars.  Confused

Jos & Nat didn't do exactly what Ella & Katie have done, but I took their bumpers out at about 15-18 mo.

    HTH!

  • I took Jacob's bumpers out around 7 mos, as soon as he could pull himself up! ?He only got his leg stuck a couple of times and learned not to do it again.
  • I've heard of parents putting vasoline on the spindles when a kid is climbing out (to make it more difficult) I wonder if it would help her not get "stuck?"
