An update on my friend in California

I had told you girls about my(and Rock's) friend in CA that is now battling brain cancer. I wanted to give you an update and ask for more healthy vibes and prayers, maybe strong ones for a miracle. Things seem to have taken a turn for the worst and it is honestly killing me inside. I may have never met this truely amazing couple, but I honestly feel like they are a part of my family. To see family/someone you love and care for go through something this horrible really tears you apart inside. I just feel so helpless. I couldn't even get through the first part of that without crying. I just cannot imagine, it really puts everything into perspective and makes your remember to not sweat the small stuff. The pain and suffering she must be going through, along with her husband, family and friends is unimaginable.

Please keep us posted.

I didn't want to be the "debbie-downer" today, but the only thing I can really do is ask for prayers for them. Its just so gut-wrenching to know that she is my age, that they have just celebrated thier first wedding anniversary and it will most likely be thier last. It makes me break down everytime I think of them. They are honestly the strongest people I have ever known. I am blessed just to have them be a part of my life for this short time. I only wish I could've gotten to know them in person.

Did she find the lump before their wedding?? or was it right after?? I'm just wondering if she had an idea of it prior to but didn't address it until they returned from their honeymoon

No, they have always lived in CA. We met on the May 2009 board on theknot. We got married a week apart. There is a group of us(Rock included) that became really close and started a seperate board which we still use everyday. We talk about everything and anything and have became extremely close. Kelly was a big part of our group before she got sick. Her and I had a few conversations about our upcoming weddings and family before we were both married but didn't talk a lot just the two of us afterwards because they found out about the breast cancer right after they got back from thier honeymoon. Its been a whirlwind for them ever since. I know it sounds silly, but this small group of girls is like a second family. Although we are from all over the country(mainly the east coast but some are out west and down south), we have managed to all stay on the board and keep each other informed of how things are changing in our lives and talk about whatever we need to or whatever we want to. Im so thankful for all of the girls, but seeing what amazing people Kelly and Manny are makes them even more special. Please feel free to let others know and ask for more prayers and support. A miracle would be wonderful for these 2.

Nope, not silly at all! I have a group of girls on a board I moderate (we all went to the same doctor to get tubal reversals) and these girls and I are best friends! I have made 2 trips to CA/NV to visit (meet) two of them on 2 different occasions. We share everything. Several have babies like I do! They know more about me then my IRL friends. I would be absolutely heartbroken if something would happen to any of them.

I will keep your friend in my t&p. I know I've mentioned it before but my husband's sister found out she had stage 4 cancer at age 29! She passed away 10 months later at age 30. Life is cruel sometimes. She was way to young to lose to her life. Cancer scares me so much! It comes out of no where and it doesn't matter how old or who you are. {{{hugs}}} I'm sorry your friend is going through this.

I think she found it right before the wedding but didn't get the test results until after they came back from the honeymoon....I checked the blog and she started it on June 16th. They were married at the end of may.

I read the new blog entry a few minutes before coming over here and I am still bawling. They are both so amazing and I HATE that this is happening to them. I am just so, so, so sad for them. SO much love and SO many prayers are coming from us, definitely.
