Computer won't detect my camera!

I am have my camera plugged into my computer and it's either not detecting the camera or I'm doing something wrong. When I've done this in the past, something automatically came up on my screen, but that isn't happening. Where do I go to find it, I want to upload pictures! TIA!

Is your camera battery charged, and the camera turned on? If it's turned on, I'd try a different USB port and/or cable. Maybe one of them is broken.

  • Sometimes you have to put it on the same mode as you would to view pictures.

  • If it doesn't come up automatically, you can go to "start" then "computer" and there should be an icon there for you camera. Usually, turning on the camera or trying a different USB outlet will work too. My iPod won't detect if it's not plugged into a certain USB outlet.
