DH and I have both taken off Friday and Monday, so we're going to go explore the Olympic Peninsula! Unfortunately, we've learned that dogs aren't allowed in the National Park, and most of the Peninsula is national park! But I think we're going to drive around it, and I've been told that there are lots of places to stop on the highway to take pictures and walk around a bit. And the highway does go right through Forks and, I believe, the Quileute (sp?) Indian Reservation (for you Twilighters).
But we've booked a beach-front condo for two nights, and we've reserved a campsite near a beach for one night (it's one of the few campgrounds within the national park that allows dogs). I'm excited! It should be beautiful and relatively low-key.

Re: Our weekend!
My friend is the Executive chef at Log Cabin Resort at Lake Crescent, Washington.
Going near there?
We might! Looks like Lake Crescent is right on Hwy 101, which I think we'll take around the peninsula.
