Thanks! I didn't know about the zucchini, either. It's huge! I didn't know about removing the leaves- I'll have to try that. And the beans- they are falling outside their grid.
This is the first garden I've had, and I'm really enjoying it!
I had my husband build the higher portion for the carrots. When I planted the carrots I just decided to put the lettuce there as well since they are both cool weather crops. I ended up putting the butternut squash there so that there was a break in the vertical trellis (between the squash and pumpkins) so that I could have an easier time accessing the crops on that side.
That being said, next year I"m going to rearrange some crops. The beans are taller than I expected and are blocking some sun from my banana pepper. And the shade cover for the lettuce is blocking some sun from the carrots, so I am going to rotate the lettuce.
