Anyone familiar with Pine Hill Gardens in Nashua?

I have a friend who lives there now and they have 2-2 bedroom apartments available. Rent is $895 including hot water. Heat is electric. They'll let us have the cats. Has anyone here lived there before? Known someone who has? The only hitch is that they require a 1 year lease which puts our house hunting on hold. ?Thanks for any imput!

?

** Backstory** Must move now, ceiling now leaking in Charlotte's room. ?She woke up soaked on Saturday night and is now sleeping in our room. ?Landlord is still not doing anything about it. ?Oh and the basement is growing all sorts of mold because it got flooded and landlord never dried it out. ?Charlotte and I are in allergy hell and mine has now progressed to a sinus infection. We are withholding our rent and looking to move.?

Re: Anyone familiar with Pine Hill Gardens in Nashua?

  • I lived there for about two years when I was a kid back in the late 80's.

The only issues I remember that we had was an issue with mold growing in my bedroom window (we also lived in a unit that faced the woods), they fixed it right away once we discovered it.  We also thought they were a little small.  We had a 2 bedroom unit and I think it was a little under 800 sq feet, we also went from a house to an apartment, so I'm sure that made it seem smaller too.  Other than that I thought they were nice and had no problems.

We lived on the second floor of a unit closer to the enterance near the RR tracks, I think it was Cypress Street.  Everbody was polite and quiet, we never had any issues with noise from neighbors.  They had a small playground and a pool there as well.  Our unit had a small "backyard" area, I remember I used to go out and jump rope back there.  The neighborhood behind the complex is a really nice neighborhood to walk in.  I remember my mom and I used to walk about 2 miles a day in the summer because the neighborhoods were so nice to walk in.

  • Call the Nashua Police. Check police logs. For some reason I seem to remember some activity there.

I have no personal experience to share, unfortunately! Good luck!

  • that and elcetric heat gets ex. pensive!
  • Kim - funny you should say that - compared to gas/oil/propane, they are saying electric is a bargain this year!
  • actually electric isnt that bad.  we had electric heat in our apt. in portsmouth and i dont think we paid any more than $100 a month
  • IMHO, I wouldn't consider living there.  It's just kind of a dumpy place with some shady people living there.
