Thank you etiquette......

Sooo....as we all know I hate writing out thank you notes........ And I still haven't done the ones from K's baptism... (going on 1.5 months now.... the etiquette police will come arrest me on that one) .... But anyways.... when we were home at the in-laws...we received some more gifts for Baby K.... Do we have to write out thank yous for them? We opened them in front of the gift giver...and profusely thanked them.... when is a verbal thank you enough?

Re: Thank you etiquette......

  • i may be in the minority but one should always send  a handwritten note of thanks.
sometimes all you really need in life is a pink wig.
  • I'd write a thank you if you have extra.
  • I'm prolly in the minority but i write thank yous for big occasions where i have a party and dont open the gifts. Wedding, showers, i will do them for As baptism... but i had people come to the house and bring a gift & i thanked them right then and there when i opened it. If i did the same for someone else i wouldn't expect a thank you in the mail. =)<3

ditto.  I send one for everything. I had some going out the day after I received the gift for Jack.  I am a freak though.

  • I write a thank you note for everything.  My parents got me into the habit as soon as I was able to write.
  • yea, i have to agree, i'd write a thank you. it doesn't have to bee all flowery, it can be simple, and the person will still like getting the card, i know i always do :)
