Poll: Are you still close with your BMs?
Do you hang out at all or still talk? Or are you worst enemies (lol)?
Re: Poll: Are you still close with your BMs?
I'm not friends with my MOH anymore which is really sad. We were friends for 23 years and then she got married and we stopped talking. She's SO stuck up her DH's booty that we never hung out anymore.
The others I still talk to regularly. None of them live near me so I rarely see them. :-(
I am officially frenemies with one BM, and I rarely see another BM (but still talk).
It makes me sad. If I had a do over, I would only have two of the four girls in the BP.

I am. My MOH & I have been friends since 2nd grade. I'm 33, so if ya do the math... yeah, that's a long time. I love her like a sister, but if we were to meet today, I don't know that we'd be friends. We're pretty different now, but we have so much history together, like I said... she's like a sister to me.
One of my bridesmaids & I have become even closer. I consider her my bff. We talk nearly every day, and I'm so blessed to have her in my life. She's the best.
My other bridesmaid is my SIL. She's great, I love her dearly. We're not as close as we used to be, but we're still close.
I think this is the main reason why i just wanted fmaily, i have already had them around forever and i just didn't want to have any regrets of who i had standing up there representing me. My sister, had me, my cousin and two girlfriends stand up for her and the only people she really still talks to is myself and my cousin her other two friend and her grew apart....
That's true, I am happy it was only one friend and not all of them. Plus it doesnt help that I married the guy she started talking to first.

You know, this is the only thing I would do over, is choosing my BM's. I would have just had my Aunt and SIL and maybe my friend from MA, because she was more of a MOH that day then my MOH.

You know you've been on The Bump too long when you read BM as breast milk!
I had 4 - 2 were my sisters so we definitely still talk. One of the girls I've known since I was 13 (that's 17 years now!) and she lives in Sacramento so we mainly talk by FB. My MOH is my best friend from college and is like a sister to me. I don't see us ever not talking.
Vanessa - you're new siggy cracks my sh!t up!
Haha thanks, it was funny when one of the guys did that on our cake table.

Yes, they are 6 of the most important people in my life! I find that with all of them, our interactions tends to have highs and lows, but mostly just because we get busy with our own lives, and not because I love them any less or because we are less close. I find that at various points, I tend to become closer to a few of them, while I may not talk to or hang out with others, etc.
My sister works a lot, so I don't get to see her or talk to her as often as I'd like, but I love her a lot, and always feel close to her. Jenn (on here) is my cousin, but also one of my best friends, and right now I think we are closer than ever. But over time, I think our closeness has had peaks and valleys too, mostly due to what we have going on in our lives, and how busy we are.
Two of my best friends are also best friends with each other (we have all been close since high school), and the three of us are very close, and I probably talk to and hang out with them the most (besides maybe Jenn).
My friend Alena is more like a sister to me than anything. Our moms have been best friends since high school, they were pregnant with us together, and we are like 2 months apart in age, and have literally been friends since birth. We also don't talk a ton or spend enough time together unfortunately, but when we see each other, it's like no time has passed. I feel like out of all of my friends, no matter how much time passes with us, I know that she will always be one of the closest people in my life.
And my other friend Amy is probably the one I'm most distant from now, but I still love her and try to keep in touch with her as much as possible. She has been one of my best friends since our freshman year of high school, and she also has always been like a sister to me.
So, to answer your question, yes, I am.
I had only 1 friend in my wedding, the other 2 were family (SILs) so I still talk to all 3.
Lolz.
Can't wait to meet my baby boy!
I tease, I tease
I'm so far past the wedding mindset that I had to sit and think a minute before realizing WTF you meant, though.
Yup, I still talk to my girls. I only had 2, my sister and my cousin. My sister has to, it's the law. And my cousin is pretty much my BFF, and we chat all the time.
My first thought was "bowl movement." I was like...why would you keep in contact with your poop?

I had 6 bridesmaids. I am still good friends with all but one of them.
One has been my best friend since 9th grade. She was my matron of honor. We don't get to talk too often (she doesn't have a computer and we are on way different schedules and 3 hours time change), but when we talk we are like we never stopped talking. She knows my history and I know hers and we have always been there for each other.
One is my sister (my maid of honor). I talk to her once a week.
One is my friend from college. I also talk to her once a week. I can talk about ANYTHING with her.
One is the one who got DH and I dating. We don't talk too much, but we get along really well. I miss her a lot.
One is a friend from high school. She visited me in AZ last February. We also don't talk too much, and aren't as close as we used to be, but we will always be there for each other.
The last one just stopped returning my phone calls, facebook messages, etc. It kind of sucked, but I have made new friends in AZ and she has made new friends in MI. It is hard to keep up with relationships in other states sometimes because your lives change so much and you're not around to adjust with them. Life goes on!

I had 4. My niece (she's only 6 years younger than me) was my maid of honor, 1 was my cousin who has been my BFF forever, 1 was my BFF and 1 was my husband's cousin.
My niece - yes. I love her to pieces
My cousin - yes. though not too much lately b/c she moved to NY and the time difference is killin' our phone time.
My BFF Ruth - we had a bit of a falling out after my wedding b/c she got pregnant and marries a control freak. He wouldn't let her talk to anyone and sent out emails on her behalf telling everyone she doesn't want to be their friend anymore. NICE GUY!!!
My Hs cousin - I asked my H if there were any girls on his side of the family that he'd like in the wedding party and he said her. yeah we still talk, but I don't feel that we're close to her anymore.
I wasn't as close as I'd like to have been even before the wedding with them, if I would have chosen my BMs a month before the wedding instead of the year we had, both sides of our wedding party would have looked a lot different.
My MOH, our friendship has been fading since she moved out of state right before I got engaged. But she made a big deal about being MOH. Then did nothing at all to help, not even offering moral support. I had to go out of my way to fill her in with what was going on. She first informed me she would be in town for my shower but that she wouldn't have time to plan it. Then she ended up not being there at all. I tried to find her a dress, ended up just letting her wear something she already had. Thankfully it matched. She did make up some for it the weekend of the wedding by helping out and being there but we'll have to see how our friendship plays out from here.
As for my other bridesmaids, one had been distancing herself for months before and the other I was close with but they both took it upon themselves to invite a bunch of people(including someone not invited to the wedding on purpose) to come party in the hotel room I was paying for them to stay in the night of the wedding, raiding the mini bar and charging valet for all their cars to the room and no one has taken responsibility for it or apologized so not sure how much I want to be around them at the moment either.
Weddings and alcohol make people do funny things, you really learn a lot about people and friendships.
Sad thing is there is a friend that I have gotten much closer to in the last year and I really wished I could have asked her to be a BM, especially since my own "best friends" caused such drama.
Oh and this is after I had to kick one BM out of the wedding a few months before the wedding because she tried to put the moves on my now husband.
