Are Spanx wannabe's worth trying?

Hanes, Assets, or whatever is at Target, JC Penney, Sears, etc...are they worth trying or would you recommend going straight for the SPANX?

I'm a regular user of the assets (Target's knock-off brand) and I like them a lot.  Gives more control than your average control-top pantyhose, and I I've washed them and worn them plenty.  Now I've never actually bough Spanx so I can't say if they're the same quality, but the Assets work for me.

I will be heading to Target today to get their version of Spanx. None of my clothes fit anymore. I'll let you know how they workout.

I've worn both Spanx and the Assests. IMO The Assests don't work as well as the Spanx but they still do a pretty good job of keeping it in. If you won't be wearing them on a regular basis and just want them to wear with a certain outfit or for special occasions, they are well worth the money.
