Tri tip recipes?

Anybody got a good one? I am defrosting it right now. Side dish suggestions also appreciated.

Re: Tri tip recipes?

  • We usually rub "pappy's" seasoning all over it. Bake in the oven for about one hour at 375 on on the grill from about an hour.

For sides we usually have beans, salad, corn or mac and cheese.

Growing up we always had cheese enchildas with tri tip. Good combo!

  • I have this recipe in my "to be tried" folder, so I can't vouch for it.  I also like it with just salt and pepper on the grill.

Grilled asparagus, and lumpy mashed potatoes made with red bliss potatoes.

  • I would think any "steak seasoning" would work. Or simple salt, pepper, galirc powder and onion powder.
  • Mashed potatoes seem like a requirement with tri tip.

  • I marinate mine in lawery's 30min marinade then rub it with olive oil and minced garlic, then throw it on the grill. I like mine on the rare side. We just had some a few nights ago with corn and a salad.
