Where to have baby shower?
I am throwing a baby shower for my best friend. She gave me a HUGE list of people to invite, at least 1/3- 1/2 won't come because they're out of town, but they're old friends.
Big thing is 25-45 people will be coming and it can't be at our house because #1 her husband is deathly allergic to dogs and we have a big shedding dog. We can't do it in my backyard because it's horribly ugly right now. Other friend's apartments can't hold more than 25-30 people.
Can you think of a cheap place/way to have almost 50 people for a shower?

Re: Where to have baby shower?
Hi! You should also probably post on your local board... I would look at your local parks department for outdoor venues. (Some of the ones near us have covered pavillions and bbq grills.)
Also your local chamber of commerce for small restaurants - usually family owned have better deals - can be more accomodating.
Good Luck!
This would depend on your friend, but would her house fit that many?
I've been to several baby showers in the last year or two that were at the new mom's house, and the great part is that they don't have to lug all those big gifts home!
You could also check with churches in the area. They often rent their fellowship halls for little to no money.
Also fire departments may have a space you could use.
