holes in pepper plants leaves?
hi! my pepper plants seem to be getting some holes in their leaves. i read up a bit and think it could be flea beetles? b/c i don't see any insects. and read those are small and make holes. thankfully all my other plants look fine (tomatoes, zucchini, eggplant). any thoughts? what can i put on them to scare away the bugs if that is what it is? preferably something not very toxic. TIA
Re: holes in pepper plants leaves?
Unless all my leaves are being stripped bare (like my kale), I generally don't do anything to get rid of the occasional insect/caterpillar. Your peppers will survive having holes in their leaves.
You can get a water bottle sprayer (8 ounces), add water, and a tablespoon of vinegar, and 1/2 tablespoon of dishwashing soap. Spray it on the pepper's leaves in the morning before the sun comes up, or after the sun goes down. You don't want to spray this solution on your plant's leaves in full sun, because you could make your plant susceptible to the sun burning your plant's leaves.
I agree with the previous poster in that if all the leaves are being stripped completely, then use a solution, else, be a careful bird and watch.
