Diet Coke saved my life today ... thanks to SyL!

Went to meet SyL at Target to go shopping, but first stopped at Nordstrom's to buy perfume.  Bought a good 'ole fave of mine, Estee Lauder Pleasures, and also tried a new scent of theirs, Pleasure Delight.  BTW - Delight does NOT smell good on me.

Met SyL, felt short of breath, light headed, but better when sitting down (even on the floor in Target).  We went on with our shopping, until I felt that my ears were plugging up and my vision was becoming blurry and white-saturated.

WARNING - LOW BLOOD SUGAR or something!  I rush poor Sylvia to the check out and I also buy a Diet Coke.

Miracle - I felt better after a few sips and sat down again for a few more minutes.

Wow Mia.  Glad you're feeling better.  That has happened to me before.  The last time it happened I was pregnant and it was definitely low blood sugar, because of the GD.  Diet coke has been a lifesaver for me at times too.

Diet Coke?  There is no sugar in it....lol.  Maybe it was the caffine?

Haha, Julie, I was just thinking the same thing after I had already posted.  The time that happened to me I drank a Sunkist, but I've relied on Diet Coke a couple of times too.

I was thinking the same thing ... the diet coke won't elevate your blood sugar or not enough if it's so low that you're having the type of problem you were.  My hubby is diabetic and we've asked specifically what the effects of sweet 'n low are on the blood sugar and it's virtually nothing. 

So it must have been something else ... but I'm glad it made you feel better!!! A diet coke, 2 tylenol and a sudafed is my sinus headache cure.

This is soooooo freaky, but almost the exact same thing happened to me today and in Target, no less. Dh and I were in target and I couldn't breath, my left eye started twitching and I started seeing "floaters", my ears were ringing. I eventually sat down on a display in the patio furniture dept until it passed. It turned into a migraine on the way home from Target.

I'm pretty sure that mine episode was caused by the fact that I didn't eat anything this morning, went to the gym, and then went to Target. It was almost 1pm and I hadn't eaten anything.

 

I'm glad that you're alright and kudos to Syl for taking good care of you.
