Hosting a Cookie Lee party/Menu Ideas Please
I'm hosting a cookie lee party and I need help with a menu. The party is 2:00 in the afternoon and there is no specific theme. I would normally cook fried chicken, red rice, a veggie and a dessert, this time I would like to try something different. I am open to any suggestions
Re: Hosting a Cookie Lee party/Menu Ideas Please
Even though it doesn't fit the party per say, I would play up the "Cookie" part of Cookie Lee and make a variety of cookies, from classic chocolate chip to maybe something more difficult/daring like chocolate dipped butter cookies or similar.
Since it's at 2:00 p.m., I'd go more for appetizers and desserts rather than a full meal like you're suggesting. Or, do a spin on an afternoon tea with scones, finger sandwiches, maybe quiche?, and flavored iced teas.
I am hosting a jewelry party myself next month.
I am simply serving appetizers & desserts. I am thinking a meat platter with crossiants and crackers in case people want to make their own mini sandwiches. Other than that though, a variety of cheeses with fruit, baguettes and crackers. I will also probably put out a hot artichoke dip for the crackers as well. then just some dessert goodies.. probably chocolate covered pretzel rods and oreo truffles.
I like the pp's suggestion of having different cookies. And I also agree to go more for apps & dessert than a full meal. People won't come expecting to eat a full meal and then you will have all that leftover food.
