Housewarming

We're invited to a housewarming party, and I'm not sure what to take. What would you suggest for a housewarming gift?? TIA.

Re: Housewarming

  • Are the recently married? If so, there might still be things left on their registry you can get.
  • A bottle of wine always works well :)
  • A gift card to Bed, Bath & Beyond.
  • What about a gift card to home depot/lowe's.  We bought a house last August and literally are there almost every weekend!  Our house is older though... guess it might depend on the when the house was built, but it's something to consider.
  • A nice potted plant

Thats a great idea, def using that for the next housewarming I go to.

  • I agree with all the PPs.. It depends on what kind of couple they are too. If they like to garden, you could go the plant way.  When we recently went to one of our good friends for a housewarming, we got her a bottle of wine, some random little things, and put together a "Take-Out Binder" for her with take out menus and numbers for all the restaurants near her new home in case she was too exhausted to cook!

  • I would suggest a gift card, I mean how many bottles of wine and house plants do you really need. Another cute idea is a personalized return address stamp.  I've used these two companies, and was pleased with both.
