What's everyone been up to lately?

We haven't chatted in a while.  How is everyone's summer going so far?  Updates, please!

I haven't been around on here much. I started a new job a few months ago, and have been settling into that. I love it! DH is planning to go back to school soon, and we're talking about starting our family. No babies yet, but we're working on it. We've been enjoying our summer nights sitting around the fire with friends!

I'm starting to go a little crazy with our summer schedule.  We've had some out of town family reunions, weddings,etc which will continue this weekend and next weekend. 

This weekend DH's sister is getting married and I'm not exactly looking forward to it but I'm thrilled their whole wedding experience is almost over.  We are hosting a brunch for DH's extended family in town (~40 people) which I'm excited about and nervous about as it is our first time hosting that many people.  It will be fun to show off our house, though.

Not much else is new with DH and I.  Just trying to get through everything right now.  I really want a dog which might happen after we put a fence up after we take down a tree in early August.

This summer we're concentrating on some home improvement projects.  So far we've gotten a new roof put on (it was old and in need of repair, then we had several lovely Oklahoma tornadoes/wind storms so that didn't help), and I've re-painted our hallway, entryway, dining room, and living room (just finished that on Friday).  Next up we're pulling up the living room carpet and installing laminate wood floors---can't wait for that project to be finished!!

Also, I joined WW in January and have lost 31 lbs so far, so that makes me happy

Our summer has been all about getting ready for baby.  She is technically not due for another 2 weeks, but I have started having contractions so hopefully it will be soon.  I have been on bedrest since June 2, so I am looking forwad to having this baby and getting out of bed!

Not a whole lot here. I worked a temp job for about a month after almost a year of searching, and now I'm back to job hunting again. I'm trying to use the time to develop a couple of hobbies. H is planning on going to grad school to work towards his CPA, and though we have the money for now, I'm still hoping a job will pop up before too long so I can help out.

We've just been staying busy this summer with lots of cookouts and pool time and beach trips on the weekends. We've been through one wedding already that I was a BM in, and we've got one coming up that DH is a GM in and DS is the ringbearer in.

DS is starting Kindergarten in the fall, so we're also beginning to get things ready for that.

We're going to Cancun in September,so I'm just counting down the days till that.

Cute name!  I'm sure bedrest is no fun, but she'll be here soon.  Two of my friends had their babies last week, one on Tuesday and the other Thursday, hopefully your little girl arrives soon!

Job hunting!  My hours got cut at work, so I'm hoping and praying I can find either another part time job, or a new full time.  I had an interview today, so we shall see.  Plus I've sent out a zillion apps!

H & I went to Vegas two weeks ago and had a blast.  I really love it there, it was our first time and great!

Congrats on your weight loss Jamie  And Quirke, hopefully she comes soon!!

I've been keeping busy this summer by working on things to get ready for the new school year (in less than a month) and working on things for our baby's room. DH and I are going on a cruise to Mexico next week, so I'm really excited about that.

Good luck with the baby! My friend just had a baby after being on bedrest. It was so hard for her because she was so bored and couldn't do anything except doctor appointments. 

Congrats on the weight loss! That's awesome!

I'm late on this post, but ohh well.

We have been crazy busy ever since Memorial weekend, which is typical in the midwest.  Everyone wants to cram everything into the summer.

We are going to Chicago in August so looking forward to that.

I've been working on changing some stuff around the house.

That's about it for us.

Congrats Jamie on the weight loss and good luck to all the soon to be Mama's!

Our summer has been pretty crazy.  I had Madeline on May 6 and we tried to cram a lot of traveling into my 2 month maternity leave.  We went to my parent's place at the beach for the first 1/2 of June and had such a great time relaxing. 
Matt's stepfather passed away when DD was just 11 days old so that was really tough.  Grief + Baby Blues is a bad combonation.  We were so blessed that he got to meet her, though (he told everyone he wasn't going anywhere until he met his Granddaughter!).  We've been spending a lot of time with MIL at the lake since she really likes having the baby around to keep her mind off everything.  I started back to work a couple of weeks ago and it's been nice to be back in a routine.  DD loves daycare and they've been so good to us there, we're very lucky.

DH and I just got back from our Bermuda/Bahamas cruise today so I'm catching up.  We go to a lot of concerts during the summer so we have a few left that I'm looking forward to.  Not much else going on now that our vacation is over and I'm glad to have some sort of a schedule back.

I'm very late on this too, but I thought I would reply anyways!

 We haven't had a very good summer so far, so we are hoping that things look up.  Four close family members passed away between late April and mid June.  So all our grand plans were usurped as well as our vacation days.  We are trying to make the best of the summer months we have left though!

I've started training for another marathon so that is keeping me well occupied!  We've even thrown some lap swimming into the mix. (FYI I am not a good lap swimmer.  I appreciate that if I get tired I can put my feet down and stand in the pool!)

I'm happy to hear that everyone has had good summers so far.  I miss hearing from all of you!  Congrats to the new moms, good luck to the moms to be very soon, and Great Job Jaime on the weight loss, that's something to be very proud of!
