We're headed to a wedding in Canton and just wondering what's good to do and eat there. I know the Football Hall of Fame is there but the price ($20pp) looks steep...is it worth it?
Re: Things to do in Canton?
I grew up in North Canton (which is a really cute town!)... there's stuff to do, but nothing really big like Kings Island.
Anyway, if you're football fans, the HOF is worth it. There's also the McKinley Monument & Museum, which is interesting. There's a nice park adjacent to the monument too. I also think you'd like Stan Hywet Hall.
Here's a website with more info

Akron is also about 20 minutes away, and there's things to do there too.
The Belden Village area is your typical suburban area... most chain restaurants are in that area.
For some more local type things- Bender's Tavern (http://www.bendersrestaurant.com/) is good, and the 356th Fighter Group does a nice Sunday brunch. The fighter group is near the Akron-Canton Regional Airport, and you can see planes take off and land while eating. http://www.356fg.com/
Giesen Haus is also a fave. http://geisenhausohio.com/
Oh, and for a cool little ice cream stand.. Ro's Custard Creations Here's their FB page. http://www.facebook.com/pages/North-Canton-OH/Ros-Custard-Creation-in-North-Canton/106793146019395#!/pages/North-Canton-OH/Ros-Custard-Creation-in-North-Canton/106793146019395?v=wall&__a=5&ajaxpipe=1
I'll call my dad tonight and see what else he recommends. It's been a while...
ETA: The other thing you might enjoy is the Harry London Candies factory tour... if you're going to be there during the week. http://www.harrylondon.com/tours.aspx
