I stole DH's thunder

On my way home from the grocery store yesterday I saw a big pile of stuff by the curb including a little boys bike, well I stopped to take a peak (yes, I trash picked) and got the bike which is in perfect condition, just needs air in the tires and a 5 foot long decorative shelf in great condition.

Well, I come home and DH helps unload the stuff and groceries and he is completely silent and then just disappeared.  I went to ask him what was wrong and he was so upset he didn't say a word to me I had to nag him.  He then said he wanted to get Alex his first bike and it should be special, not just trash.  I could see how hurt he was and said no problem I'll just re-sell it in a garage sale.  I didn't think it was that big of a deal, but I felt so bad seeing how he felt.  Whoops, I guess even guys have their moments. I knew he felt this way about a baseball mitt for him, but not a bike.
