Hi girls, I haven't been on much so I thought I would stop by to say hi. I started back to work a little over a week ago. It is sooooooo hard being back to work, I miss Kaelyn so much when I am at work. I think I was spoiled being home with her since March. Work is crazy busy. I ahve about 60 kids on my caseload already, and it is only the 2nd week of school. The one good thing about being so busy is my day flies by and it is time to go and pick up Kaelyn. She is dong fantastic, each day she is with someone different and has adjusted very well. She is up around 6:30 so I breastfeed her before I leave then I pump 2 times during the day and I am home by her 4:00 bottle. She is only taking 2 5oz bottles while I am away from her. Pumping isn't my favorite thing, but I want to try to keep BF for as long as I can. Kaelyn is going to be 6 months old (can you beleive that) in a week or so. I can't believe I have been BFing this long. We haven't introduced any foods yet, I will probably start after her 6 month Dr. appt. She only weighs about 12 pounds right now, but she has gained a pound a month since her last appointment, so hopefully the doctor will say she is doing ok and I can keep BFing and by just adding some solids I won't have to do any formula. Ok I think that is enough rambling for now. If anyone is ever interested in getting together on a weekend day I am usually around as DH works most weekends. Hope all is well with you girls.
Re: Just checking in
Glad it is going well so far. I know it is tough being away from your baby, but I just wanted to say that it has been so great for Jordan (I can't remember if Kaelyn is in daycare with other babies, but Jordan has learned a lot from interacting with the other kids his age at daycare.
And, great for you with BFing...we are still going strong too, but we do supplement with formula. I decided I didn't want to stress out about pumping, because it truly is a pain, so I just pump what I can. I figure whatever he can get is great. And at home, he's pretty much EBF.
Hey Shannon!
I'm glad your days are going by fast. I'm sure being at work during the day helps make the time with Kaelyn even more special, even thought its hard, and its great that you guys are managing and she's doing well at daycare.
I can't believe she's almost 6 months! Make sure to update us with a picture!
