::pokes::

Hi guys. I started/renewed a vitamin regimen today. I'm pretty psyched about it. And dad started chemo today. Seemed to go okay. And I made Exp's bourbon chicken recipe with some minor modifications and it was easy and crazy good. What's up with you?

Re: ::pokes::

  • BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGLE!

I made tacos for dinner. I love taco night. And your dad. Yay BugleDad!

I'm displeased because my doctor didn't call me back today. I would really like to know if my kidneys are failing. Although maybe if she didn't call me back, they're not? Maybe?

  • I broke my ankle this weekend after tripping over my parent's cat on the stairs, but I have to say I am enjoying being waited on by my H.

Right now I'm watching the bachelorette and doing some job hunting.

I also need to plan my friend's bachelorette party tonight and look up limo rental prices.

Oh and here's a picture of the cake I made for the wedding shower this weekend.

Did you fall down the stairs you were lying at the top of in your mom jeans?

  • That's a cool cake. What's all this kidney business moofry?!
    image
  • This is what I was wearing when the incident happened.

See my "tell me about your pee" post. Although you can't make me believe you didn't already read it. I know how you feel about pee posts.

  • Shamed. I didn't. I can no longer be counted on. Headed over there now.
    image
  • Dude, why are Limo rentals so expensive?!

And why won't my signal come in on the TV anymore? MUST NOT MISS BACHELORETTE!

  • Oy. Sorry I missed that. I tend not to open Dr. AFSBCN posts because I am a lawyer. More of a Claire than a Cliff. Now I'm freakin. Have you had any symptoms that would indicate major kidney meltdown?
    image
  • No, which is why I'm inclined to believe it's just an error. However, I posted on some diabetes forums to get an idea of a) if such an error is feasible and b) if it's correct, what am I looking at here and someone responded and said that his level was WAY higher than mine and that alone doesn't indicate a problem, it'll just lead to further testing. So I'm slightly calmer. But I really want my doctor to call me. They promise a call within 24 hours and I called this morning so hopefully tomorrow morning.

  • Whaddup. We had a tasty dinner of spicy oven fried chicken, buttermilk  biscuits from scratch, asian slaw, corn on cob, and sliced tomatoes and basil. Blueberry cobbler for dessert.

Now Mike's in a bad mood so apparently we aren't talking-this is a very very strange occurrence in our house so I'm not sure what to do. He's stressed about the one, maybe two possible job openings at work that would be promotions for him.

Moo, your MD didn't call you back? That's super whack.

How could someone be in a bad mood after having a dinner like that?

Sorry his crabby pants are giving him a wedgie.

  • That sounds like a work intensive dinner K.

Agreed. Holy crap that sounds tasty.  I'm making stuffed shells, gravy, and meatballs sometime this week and that sounds labor intensive enough for me.

  • It's his favorite meal too, so I don't get how food couldn't cheer a body up. It's not as much work when Mike hacks up the cabbage for slaw. We're a good team in the kitchen.

I think he's just feeling the weight of being the breadwinner who actually has a chance of earning more money. Since I'm PT there's no shot of me getting a substantive bump in pay.

  • I want to make a trip to Ohio and have dinner at Kristen's house and play with Maggie.
  • C'mon Kay! Tomorrow we're having buffalitos.

  • I'm trying to get my own butt promoted right now and it is stressing me out.  I can commiserate with Mike, although I don't think you deserve the silent treatment after a dinner like that.

We just had leftover nectarine-raspberry crisp from last night's early birthday dinner for Adam.  So tasty.

It's my turn to do dishes and I'm procrastinating.  I hate dishes.  Especially when the dishwasher needs to be unloaded first.

The home run derby is boring, but they just showed an awesome Ken Griffey Jr. ad from Nike.

    please to explain.

  • Buffalitos are a delicious BW-3 creation that we make at home. Soft tortilla shell layered with grilled chicken tossed with buffalo wing sauce, lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese, salsa, and sour cream. Mmmm. Buffalitos.
    image Ready to rumble.
  • We had tacos tonight too. Yummmm. The new guy I've been seeing spent the last few nights here, which is ok, but I'm feeling a little cramped so I made him go home. I think he's offended, but dude I need some space.

  • Ooh, Wendy, I didn't realize you are dating. Good for you! Has Connor met him?
    image Ready to rumble.
  • Yes, and Connor thinks he's awesome. He has two kids of his own, so it's nice that he gets all that goes with having a toddler, but I think it's all just a little much too fast for me right now.

  • Moofry-  I don't like all this protien in your pee pee.  They need to call you back asap.

  • You (and Connor) have been through a lot in the last couple years. I'm sure it's a mix of emotions to meet someone you like but feel like you need your space as well. Hopefully he will understand that and be patient!

  • I am seriously behind the 8 ball with planning B's birthday party. I need to get my ass to home depot to get what I need to make his invites.

We are going camping this weekend and I can not wait. I hope B likes it.

Umm...our house has never been so clean. I am sooo bored lately.

Ok, so what do you need from home depot to make birthday invitations? I'm really curious now.

    image
  • Man. I would rather not have access to test results until someone is able to help me interpret them, I think for this reason Moo. I'd probably be freaking out.

I spent the afternoon cutting out fabric for birds, then Will and I put some books on his bookshelf. Then we moved stuff around in the kids' room (it's weird to say that and not "Will's room"). I have a strong desire to scrub the bathroom from top to bottom, but I'm tired and am instead sitting on the couch, so I'm watching the boring HR derby and drinking water while Will tries to read books to Gracie. It's like watching Benny Hill, he's running back and forth from one room to the other with his book chasing after her. "Come on Gracie, I read you pigeon book!"

  • They don't have paper in Canada? Have to use plywood?
