Sixth Anniversary

Died yesterday at 80 years old.

I'm not a Yankees fan, but the man was a legend.

Re: George Steinbrenner...

  • Dude! I had no idea!!

Wow...that really sucks. First, the Yanks lose their voice man, then Steinbrenner dies. Holy cow.

  • Not a Yankees fan, but my thoughts are with you, as the Rockies lost their president earlier this year, I understand.

No, that was the Scooter (Phil Rizzuto).  "Good afternoon, Ladies and Gentlemen.  Welcome to Yankee Stadium" was Bob Sheppard.  Stick out tongue

Very sad days, indeed.  I can't help but wonder now.....who will be the third?

Same. It was weird to hear the news.

  • Yeah... I got this text message from ESPN when it came out. I spent that day remembering him and all the good things he did for Tampa Bay... and then I continued my Yankee hating.
  • I am a huge yankee fan and found out about this at the airport on the way home from out honeymoon. I too am worried and curious about who is number 3. I wasn't a fan of his politics but he was a legend!

  • I still can't believe he's gone.  I know he's always been somewhat unpopular, but honestly he is one of the big reasons why I love the Yankees.
