Hello!
I'm a lurker with a Gardening question....I have these disgusting orange and black mushrooms growing in my mulch. I've done a little research, and they are called Stinkhorns. I guess they also smell bad, and attract flies to spread their spores.
Anyone have a good way to get rid of them, without also killing the flowers nearby? I've heard table salt, mouthwash or gasoline (which sounds a little over the top) to dry them and their spores out.
Any help is appreciated!
Re: Stinkhorn Mushrooms?
I had these last year, it was disgusting. You can put gloves onand just pull it out. Mine withered naturally after some sun.
~Life After Infertility~
I had a recurring one in my mulch last year. I poured straight Clorox on it twice, and while that killed it, it came back. (Serious, WTH are those things made of?!) I eventually dug up the entire bed and threw all the soil and mulch in garbage bags and sent them to the dump and put in all new soil and mulch. I was sure to bleach my shovel afterwards.
