Ideas for a 30th birthday party

My husband is turning 30 at the end of August.  For months I have been going back and forth on what to do to celebrate.  We decided to take a weekend trip together, but I feel that there should also be a way we can celebrate with some of our friends and family.  My husband works an hour and a half from our home.  I would like to invite some of his work friends to the party as well.  Since we are also going on a trip our budget is a bit tighter.  I was thinking he would enjoy going to a place like Dave and Buster's since we will be combining a lot of our different social groups, but their party packages seem to be quite expensive from what I can tell.  Does anyone have any ideas on an inexpensive but fun way to celebrate his 30th?

Thanks for any help!!

Re: Ideas for a 30th birthday party

  • Day canoe trip followed by grillables and beer at your house.
  • You're new, so you probably didn't know that this question gets asked at least once a week.  Scroll back through the pages and see what ideas you can find.

I wouldn't plan on anyone from your DH's work coming, and I'd probably skip inviting them altogether if they aren't super close buddies.  An hour and a half is a heckuva long drive for a social event other than a wedding.

You can have a great party at home grilling out if you try to make the food and atmosphere a little special.

  • I think it would be nice to have an inexpensive bbq at the house, and as a curtosey, you could invite his coworkers. If you are set on going out of town also, try doing your shopping at Sams or something, to save some money, or have close family members bring dishes, if they ask if they can help.

Turn it into a suprise for him, that would be nice and memorable.

    Good Luck!
