Sad to say....(vent)

that my dear Celeste will have to start going to daycare since we have exhausted all of our family that can watch her. My mom and MIL have now injured wrists from watching her and FIL is out of country.

Good thing is I found a place on the way to work and I know some people from work who have their kids go that daycare although their kids are older.

UGH! I don't like the idea of my daughter being anywhere else but home. I need to let go since I can't really be a stay at home mom.

thank you for letting me vent.... now I just want to cry Crying but I know I have to do it and be strong about it.

  • Oh Mae!  It's ok!  Celeste will love it!  She will enjoy playing with other children, even if they are older than her.  (RJ has taught her to stand up for herself...beside she can tell them she has a protective, strong and brave Kuya to answer to.  LOL)  It will be great!  Try not to worry!  Big hugs!!!
  • I'm sorry you feel badly I'm sure this is rough.  But just think of the social interaction she will get by being with other kiddos.

    Hugs

  • Hi Mae!

What a bummer that Celeste is moving on to daycare. But I say no worries! I feel she'll be fine and that she'll thrive with the social interaction she'll get with other kids. I hope Celeste's Lola's can recover quickly from their injuries.

My MIL is going to watch Collin when I go back to work. She really wants to do this because Camille had started daycare at 5 months and she felt that was too early. I worry that she, too, will get injured from caring for Collin. Her knees are weak at times so we'll be keeping a close eye on her health.

Also...good thing that you found a daycare that you know others that are there. It helps to have other parents to talk to about the place & be extra eyes when they are over there dropping & picking up their kids. I usually peek in on my friend's & cousin's kids at the daycare Camille attends.

Keep us posted on how Celeste adjusts to this transition to daycare!

  • Thank you Mia, Jayme and Achelle for your replies.

I actually just got back from the daycare with Celeste. I watched her from a far for about 30 minutes and she did pretty good. At first she was just sitting for awhile where I left her and was just observing. Next thing I know she was all over the new toys she saw and even enjoyed being outside with the other kids. Tomorrow I have a one to one with her teacher so we can talk about how she is and stuff.

I still feel its too early but I got to let go sometime. And you guys are right-she will love it...just look at Rj - everyday he asks me if he is going to school because he wants to be with his friends. ... they grow up so fast.

Thank you again and will post updates on how she is doing and me too.
