Ipod Touch issue

Hey Ladies, I don't normally post here, but I need your help (if there is any).

My Ipod Touch decided that it doesn't want to use the internet. What I mean is, I have my touch connected to my wireless at home (protected, but I've input the password), but when I go to use the internet, it states that it is not connected to the internet. I went ahead and made it forget the network and re-enter the password in hopes that that would help (it didn't).

I can see that it has full wireless signal, but nothing. I've renewed the lease, all four slots are filled in for the IP, Subnet, router and DNS...that didn't work. I reset all settings, reset the networks and even reset everything back to the factory settings. I'm still having issues where it shows I'm connected to the internet, but when I go to use Safari, get my email, get on facebook it states "safari cannot open the page because it is not connected to the internet".

I know the wireless works in the house, since the main computer uses wireless. I'm at a loss and figured I'd see if anyone else had this issue before I went to apple just to have them tell me it's a wireless issue.

Thanks ladies!

Re: Ipod Touch issue

  • Have you tried using it somewhere else that offers wi-fi?  I would stop by a Panera or other business that offers free wi-fi and see if you continue to have connection problems.  This should tell you whether the problem is your Touch or your home wi-fi.

If the problem is your Touch, I would go to the Apple website support pages, which usually are pretty good.  If you can't find help there, I would contact Apple directly.

Good luck!  This must be very frustrating for you.

Thanks! I'm planning on taking it tonight to Panera to see if I can get on somewhere else.

It's so very frustrating.  Wireless was JUST hooked up at the new house yesterday, so I was all geeked to get on the touch again.

Thanks for the advice about the Apple website support pages. I'll try them out as well.
