Hi ladies! I have never posted here before, but frequent some of the other boards as well as my anniversary board.
I am a preschool teacher and trying to prepare for the upcoming school year. Well, I have been away from the field for about a year and a while back I burned some cd's for my classroom in the wrong format, I was kinda new at burning when I did these. I used to have an I-pod shuffle (but then my laptop crashed & I lost everything). Since then I have gotten a new computer, but when I tried to play them, I realized I burned them in a m4a format, which requires Quicktime to run them. I don't have it on my new computer, but was wondering if anyone new a way to convert them to a cda or other file that a regular cd player will play so I can use them in my classroom again. Any programs out there that are free that will let me convert them? Any ideas? Thanks so much.
Re: cd burning question
A google search for "convert m4a to cda" returns tons of hits.
TuCows returns this as a good, free option:

We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
Options that come to mind:
(1) You can download QuickTime player for free
(2) You can download iTunes, which should play m4a files
(3) You can burn a regular audio CD after the files are imported into iTunes
Audio file conversion doesn't strike me as the easiest solution for your problem.
