We've been looking for a china cabinet to display all our new wedding gifts for weeks. I've been looking at craigslist but does anyone know of any really cheap places for furniture (decent thrift stores, import shops, etc)? We're renting at the moment so it's not going to be with us forever; just need something to get the job done now on the cheap! Thanks!
Re: (really) cheap furniture
I am a fan of the Jewish Women Council Thrift Shops. There's one on Venice in Mar Vista. There's one on Santa Monica near the Mormon Temple. They are all over but worth seeking one in your neighborhood. They tend to only display nicer pieces. It takes a while to find what you want but pop in every week and see what you find.
There's also the Hotel Surplus Outlet in the valley. Google it and you can check out what they have online. They may have something suitable for china. There prices are great!
