Slackers?

Topmorrow Julie and I are heading down to the court house, to get our domestic partnership liscense. We should of done this a LONG time ago, but stuff got over powered by the real wedding. So tomorrow Julie and I will have some basic rights, as a couple very basic, but still meaningful.

I just wanted to share.

  • Congratulations!  It is very important! Smile

We still haven't registered as domestic partners in DC.  While we don't live in DC, we could still register - and probably should since I work in DC and if something should happen, I'd be taken to a DC hospital. It just seems we are never in DC at the same time when the courthouse is open.

And that reminds me - I need to put a copy of our medical power of attorney agreements and the kids birth certificates in the diaper bag (they were there, but the bag (and contents) got wet and I never put a copy back in.) Oops.

  • Congrats! It took us almost a year from our wedding before we did our domestic partnership. We had our civil union on our second anniversary. It doesn't matter the timing, just that you get every right that you can.

  • Congratulations! It's so important.
  • Congrats to you two! You're lucky to live in a state that actually has the option for you to in some way legalize your union and get a least a few rights.  Where we live theres nothing like that, so we are looking forward to our move to Boston in the summer of 2009 so we can legalize our marriage.

  • CONGRATS! We live in a ridiculous red state that offers nothing in the means of domestic partnership or unions or anything. You are so very lucky to have option. So excited for you! Smile
