What's on your coffee table?

We just bought a new (big) coffee table, and I'm totally stumped about how to decorate it and what to put on it.  So... what's on your coffee table?  Extra credit if you want to PIP it!

Re: What's on your coffee table?

  • We don't have a coffee table, we have an ottoman.  If I did have a coffee table, I wouldn't want to put a ton on it just because our cats get into everything. I might do a candle scene of some sort, maybe some smooth rocks.  But I'm not sure if I'm much help!

  • We don't have one, either.  I haven't been able to find a table that works with our couch.  It's an odd shape so square or rectangle looks weird.

Once upon a time, when I HAD one, I had a few coffee table books on it.  (All photography books)  I tried to keep it minimal to avoid clutter.

  • We have a big bowl sitting on top - a housewarming gift from my sister when we moved in together. Usually the remotes sit on top too.  On the bottom part (kinda like elpa's) we have a couple of magazines stacked and the scrapbook with all our photobooth pictures in it.  And some coasters too.
  • There really isn't anything on ours. Just a few magazines and the remotes. We have big dogs with tails so it get cleared if theres too much stuff.

  • We have a little serving tray on ours from BB&B the has pictures in the bottom and in that we keep our remotes. That's in the middle. The on one corner we have 4 coasters that are square and glass that hold pictures. They're in a little stand.

  • Coaster set, 2 candles on either side of it, another big candle that I use often, books, and remotes, bills, mail, etc. At the bottom are picture albums of us. It is one of those lift top coffee tables (didn't like it at first, but now I do) and it is awesome bc it gives me a place to put my stuff even though it is huge dust collector, too.

  • Right now just a vase with fresh flowers.  I wish I could put the photobooth scrapbook and other photo albums on the bottom shelf but I know that the dog will destroy them.
  • Crap, haha. It's more for practical uses than decoration uses. Usually remotes, magazines, mail, my laptop, dinner, glass of wine, etc.

  • A wedding scrapbook my mom made and the remote.  Nothing exciting.

  • H had this habit of putting his stuff on any and every flat surface in our apt so we don't have a coffee table and we're not going to get one!

phew!! I was getting worried that my coffee table was the only one with crap! usually coasters, magazines, plates, and mail, mail, mail!

  • Soooo jealous of all of you being able to have a coffee table that doesnt turn into a craft space or a toy zone.

Right now my coffee table has 2 glasses of chocolate milk & crackers on it. Ahhhh motherhood.

  • Right now we have a coaster set and the scrapbook/guestbook from the wedding on it.
