Well ladies, we went to the animal shelter last night but no luck finding a puppy. I hated seeing all of those dogs in cages but the good thing was they weren't full, I saw alot of empty ones. I guess we'll keep looking!

Re: No luck...
Yes we checked them out. Everything listed in our area is at least an hour to an hour and a half drive from where we live. HH found oodle.com which is a classifieds add in our area. I'm hoping we can find something there.
Aw, the right one will come along!
I love checking out PetFinder - we're not looking for a pet but when I used to daydream about getting a puppy I'd oooh and ahhh over the Pomeranians and Papillons on there. Little yippy yapper dogs...
Things happen for a reason. Just keep looking and you will know when you find the right dog. It's kind of like when we were looking for wedding gowns. You see one and get that feeling. You just know you were meant to be together, LOL! That's how I felt when I saw this little white chihuahua at work. He was very old with many health problems and had no home. I knew I had to have him and give him a wonderful life for his remaining days. I sent DH a text "I need him!". The chihuahua and I clicked immediately and I never regretted adopting him. Good Luck and keep looking. You will find THE dog when you least expect it.
Wow 4 cats?! I couldn't do that lol I'm not a cat person. I can do cats if it lives outside, but I HATE litter boxes so no inside cats for me.
This is EXACTLY what I did when I brought home Stella. We had talked about getting a dog but it was always in the future. We were also living in non-pet friendly apartments at the time. HAHA but he loves her as much as I do
When we got Chloe, I had been looking online at the county shelter, and found a lab shepherd mix, and had talked Adam into getting a puppy! Well, on Friday at lunch, Adam went to the shelter and saw the puppy and sent me a picture! I was working until 7:30, so we couldn't go that night. But instead we went to PetSmart and bought EVERYTHING. We got to the shelter the next day before it opened, and she was GONE! She had been adopted the night before! I was devastated! That weekend we went to every shelter in the counties near by, and nothing. A few days later, I was looking on craig's list and found a posting for a lab/shepherd puppy that had been rescued, emailed the girl, and heard back the next day! We went out to visit and brought home our baby girl!! I truly believe that dog at the shelter was meant to not be there so that we could have Chloe. The girl that gave her to us (free!) and I still keep in touch via facebook, where I can still check out pictures of Chloe's brother.
Don't worry, it will happen when it's time!
