York Restaurant recommendations?
Hello all! My husband and I, and another couple, are going to "Uncork York" on Saturday and visit a few wineries. We'd also like to eat somewhere in York - please give me your recommendations!
Thank you!
Re: York Restaurant recommendations?
If you are looking for something more casual, there's The White Rose in downtown York; The Eagle's Nest on the east end and Crimson on S. Queen Street. For something a bit more formal I like The Roosevelt Tavern in the city...they have great crabcakes! If I think of others, I'll reply again.
Have fun!!
Uncork York...details, please!
I 2nd the Roosevelt Tavern. My H and I love Al Dente (off of Mt Rose Ave).
The Left Bank is verry pricey but very trendy and the food is amazing if that's what you're looking for. White Rose is also very trendy and has great casual food and is great for happy hour (try the crab pretzle melt!), this is where everyone in the city goes after work --they have outside seating too. They just redid the inside. I'd say if you're coming to York for the first time, gotta go with White Rose! I also heard the Harp & Fiddle just re-opened, not sure what the food is like, but go there for the atmosphere (it's Irish) so, very fun & good place to grab drinks after dinner. On a sat. night it will prob have someone playing guitar.
Uncork York website. We recently visited some wineries along the Berks County wine trail, and decided to go see some in York. Our plans are:

Thanks for the recommendation Ladies! We went to White Rose and loved it! We did the pretzel crab appetizer thing, delicious! And i had some kind of creamy crab & shrimp pasta, also yummy! the service was amazing, very fast and friendly. Definite thumbs up!
As for the wineries, I think Four Springs was our favorite. Fox Ridge was very... unique. The lady working was older and seemed inconvenienced by our presence. The place was also a disaster in desperate need of some de-cluttering.
Thank you for sharing with us about the wineries. We are fairly new to the area and constantly say "what do you want to do" I dont know what do you want to do. lol
