Recommend your razor

For 20+ years I used Schick Personal Touch and just bought the replacement blades.  It was a pretty simple design with just a small moisture strip on the blade.  I haven't been able to find the blades in the store for about a year.  So I went and picked out a new razor with much angst.  It seems everything I could find had so many bells and whistles with the huge moisture bars and whatnot, so I got Bic Soleil which seemed to be the simplest.  Now they stopped making that one in a refillable type.

Does anyone have a simple, refillable (or whatever the term is) razor to recommend?  And, no, I am not going to stop shaving!  ;-)

Re: Recommend your razor

  • I use a Preserve Razor.  You can get them at Whole Foods.  They're made from recycled Stonyfield yogurt cups, are are completely recyclable.  They're made in the USA, with no animal testing.  I've had mine for months, and it works great!

  • I think the company that makes the recycled toothbrushes makes razors too! http://www.preserveproducts.com/products/personalcare.html

Yep, they do, and they even have one that looks like what I use (Sensor Excel for now). I think I may try these out!

  • In case you don't have WF, like me, Target also carries their products.
  • Not only simple, but also pretty colors!  Thanks!  I knew I could count on the nest!  :-)
  • I use the preserve razor and like it very much as well.  In fact, I found that it was less expensive than my original razor (that has also gone the way of the dodo bird.)
  • Thanks to the www.nonewplastic.com blog, I got DH and me the safety razor mentioned. I am SCARED to use it, but also really excited. DH Is SUPER SUPER excited to use it.

Can you post a review after you use it?  I think DH would love this and I will need a new razor as well.

  • I tried to get on the blog "nonewplastic.com" and my Firefox told me that it wasn't a good page and it blocked it due to "possible attacks".

Did anyone else have this problem?
