Weekend Plans?

Hello friday!

Whatcha got planned this weekend?

Re: Weekend Plans?

  • Well tomorrow we are getting fingerprinted for the adoption.  That's really our only 'must-do' item of the weekend.  I'm certain the rest of our time will be spent doing the usual - cleaning, errands, etc.  K needs to get ready for her new job and the house really does need a good deep cleaning.  Aren't we fun? ;-)

  • Tonight: I'm getting my hair cut after work and then it's date night! We're going out for dinner and to see The Kids Are All Right. I'm so excited to see this movie, but totally prepared to be disappointed in the presentation of a two mom family created with the help of donor sperm. I'll report back on Monday. Big Smile

Tomorrow: The day needs to involve cleaning, weeding and food shopping, but will probably also include some sleeping in and relaxing. That evening we're invited to attend an intimate, at-home wedding reception for DW's former boss and her new wife. I'm excited!

Sunday: We've got brunch plans with a friend and then we're headed to a natural baby store about an hour away to investigate cloth diaper options. DW has a new found obsession with cloth diapers. I can't tell you how much this fact surprises me! Later that day, we need to stop by a political fundraiser for a friend of ours.

Whew! Typing that all out just made me realize what a busy weekend we have in store.

  • I cant wait to hear your report on the movie - its not playing in my area for another couple weeks, but i'm looking forward to seeing it.

tonight: my town's extravaganza continues w/ a carnival.  games and rides and junk food, oh my!

tomorrow: visit my gma (fingers crossed that Sprout behaves in the nursing home) then more carnival and fireworks in the evening.

sunday: visit w/ a good friend who's up from NYC

  • CT- I hope Sprout behaves for you!

We are going to try and keep cool!

We have swimming lessons tomorrow and will probably have dinner with my mom and do some more swimming at her house. LMC wants to show off her new skills and cute bathing suit. We still haven't made plans for Sunday but I am working on it.

I feel like I need to made some alone time a priority, it's been months and months. I may try to see a movie or wander around the mall for a little bit.

  • We pick L up from the airport tonight! Whoo hoo!

Tomorrow L is making up for up for lost time with the kids. Stick out tongue She is taking the kids for haircuts, to see Despicable Me, and home for a nap while I go to Costco and then to a baby shower for my roommate from my freshman year of college. In the evening, we are dropping the kids off at our gym for parents night out. I really wanted to see The Kids are Alright - but it is playing too far from where the kids will be and I didn't think we could get there and back in time to get them. So we'll go have dinner alone. :)

Sunday we'll take the kids swimming in the morning and then we are meeting up with a friend in the afternoon. I don't know if he'll come to our house or we'll meet him in the city.

  • Tonight I'm going to the Bite of Seattle to have food, drinks, listen to music and enjoy the evening with two good friends.  Tomorrow I'm going to a ropes course (think suspension bridges, zip lines, etc.) in Canada with a local LGBT activities group I joined.  WheeeBig Smile  Sunday...I'm not sure yet.  Maybe help a friend with her computer and/or catch up on chores and errands.

Twobrides my DD and I saw 'Despicable Me' last weekend and really enjoyed it.  It has a good message for a kids flick and I was amazed at what Steve Carell did with his voice.  I hope L and the boys like it!

  • Well, today WAS supposed to be a sleep in day...NOT! The kiddos have been up since 5:00 am with smiles on their faces. C patiently played the pacifier game with them and tried to get them to go back to sleep. Around 6:30 am, I stopped pretending I was asleep (oops! did I say that out loud...LOL!) and got up. We fed them (though they were not quite due for their feeding), they gobbled up, yet they were still quite "chipper." We played with them for awhile...they kept rubbing their eyes through all the patty cake games. We were able to get DD to dose, and I took DS to the living room with me...DD woke up as soon as I got out of bed. So now I am typing in the living room as they rock "asleep" in the swings. I told C to go back to bed that I have things to do anyway. Right after I finished this post I am going to FINALLY get my daughter's box ready to send to her. It is so hot over there...I hope the goodies we are sending can help her keep her mind off that sun (let alone other things).

The weekend will officially begin once we walk out the door this morning to go to the post office, Babies R Us, Target, and do some grocery shopping. I plan to take C out to breakfast right after the post office.

I would like us to get outside this weekend...hopefully, we will do a stroll around the lake.

Tomorrow is Church, chores, and planning the menu and clothing (for C) for the week.

Hopefully, we can find some time to snuggle on the couch...it is so hard to find the time.

    Lilypie Third Birthday tickers

  • I worked Friday night, and Saturday DW and I went to LILITH FAIR!!! It wasn't the same as the glory days of the late 90s but it was still great. (I didn't get a chance to go then, but it is forever magically engraved in my mind as this great place with great music and lesbians, and I WANTED TO GO! I was 14 at the first tour and my mom wouldn't take me "because of all the gays". She laughs now and said yesterday "If I knew then what I know now, I would have taken you to the d@mn concert, I really liked the acts myself!") Then today- just now leaving work, woo hoo!

DW and I also had a serious IVF discussion yesterday. We have now had 2 BFNs from IUI. When is there a problem, and when is it the waiting game? I think there is something wrong, she thinks we just started and I'm being impatient. *sigh*
