Need help: ladies weekend in the desert?

A friend is going through a nasty divorce and we are planning a weekend out to blow off some steam.

Should we do Palm Springs, Palm Desert or Rancho mirage? I say Palm Desert but it's been a good 2 years since I've been there.

We all mid-late 30s- most of them are single and ready to mingle.

Thanks!

Re: Need help: ladies weekend in the desert?

  • HI spykitty!  I have only ever done Palm Springs and kind of on the low key version. (spa day- wine tasting) -- I have heard that the local desert casinos are really developing a decent night life out there and their resorts are pretty nice.

You might be able to make a nice weekend out of it- get a nice suite, spa services during the day, pool time and then club it up?

Sorry I'm not more help :-/ Have fun!

  • Thanks! Yeah I am trying to clear the fog out of my memories. Everytime I am there I am pretty deep in the cup and hardly remember. Me thinks Palm Desert is the best bet if everyone wants to mingle. Palm Springs is fun but all those players are for the other team. Rancho Mirage has great resorts but a little more mellow crowd.

I think I just answered my own post, yes?

  • I went to the palm desert jw marriott many moons ago, it was fun both times, but I don't know how it is anymore.  they also have a separate section with 1 or 2 bedroom condos, we stayed in one for a friend's bachelorette party - it was perfect for a group since there was a kitchen.

  • That JW Marriott in Palm Desert is always a good time. Yes

For a friend's BP, she rented a house in Palm Springs for the weekend. I have no idea how much it cost, but it was so awesome. It was decorated all retro 50's style and it had a pool...it was a great place to hang out, but I'm sure it was $$ and a lot of trouble.

  • Thanks ladies! I think we'll stick with the JW since it is easy in- easy out.

Kchoi- yes! He is almost 8 weeks old. After 15 hours of labor I never moved past 9cm so had a C-section at 2:30am. He was 9lbs 8oz, no wonder he wouldnt come out. I don't think I'd want him to anyways ;)

    Thanks for the desert info!
