Bridal shower lunch - need main dish idea

I am hosting a bridal shower lunch for 25 people and need ideas for the main food....would people want to eat something hot in the middle of summer, like a casserole type thing? (we will be indoors with AC) Sandwiches seem a little boring...any other ideas? Thx!

Can you enlist someone to man a grill?  Cook up some flat iron steaks and chicken breast, thin slice and platter up.  You could also do "gourmet" pizzas.  Wraps are also a little nicer than sandwiches.

what about hawaiian pulled pork with grilled pineapple?  it can be made ahead of time and side dishes will be really easy.

if its bridal shower im sure everyone is watching their figures to fit into the dresses! i did different salads, what about spinach and steak salad, chicken salad, asian type salad?

Haha, the one request I had for my shower was that we have real food.  No little cucumber sandwiches and more than just salads.

Is there anything the bride really likes?

I agree, ask the bride first - she may have some ideas of what she wants for her own shower.  If you have some direction/theme, it will be easier for us to give you ideas.

a nice salad theme would be easy to do. Fruit salad, regular, antipasto, etc..

What are the other side dishes you have? I don't see a problem with eating a hot food item, especially because the event is happening indoors. I like  PP idea about pork with pineapples, that sounded delicious! I definitely dont think it should be sub sandwiches, that just seems like the easy way out to me. Your guests will be happy they are being fed something a little more substantial than a sub.
