Recommend good produce bags?

I know someone had a suggestion before (and I did look at the "owl" design bag on Etsy).

But any other suggestions?  My one thing is I think I want it meshy/see through (so the cashier can see what's inside, as well as me).  I saw some opaque ones online (perhaps linen?) but I do prefer the mesh.

Any suggestions?  I don't want something where stems of stuff are just going to rip up the bags (like the tops of bananas making everything ravel).

Thanks!

(BTW I was looking at these on Amazon.. I was going to buy several items on Amazon for a bday gift shipped right to the recipient -

Re: Recommend good produce bags?

  • I like mine from amkdesigns on etsy. If I got more, they'd be those, or Flip & Tumble from amazon.com. Bananas never go in my produce bags, since I really don't see the need.

  • I have the owl bags. Then I discovered I could buy those exact same bags at the Dollar Store for 4 for $1. Much better deal.

  • I second the love for earth bags on etsy. I love mine and they haven't had any unraveling or tearing problems yet.

  • I have the first bags Jennybeeb listed and love them. I've never had them snag or anything. I've used and washed many times with good success.

  • I have both of these from Peddler's Wagon.  They're organic cotton and machine washable.  They've held up really well, I'm very happy with them.  I didn't like the nylon-type fabric of some of the other mesh styles like the Flip and Tumble.

  • I also have the flip & tumble bags, and really like them.  I bought mine on Amazon and just recently saw them in a Crate & Barrel catalog.
