intro and ob/gyn recs

Im not new to the nest, but new to the dfw nesties board. I am 27, have 2 sons, and am a teacher. My husband and I have been married for 5  years. I live in the Duncanville, Cedar Hill, Desoto area, and am looking for a new ob/gyn. I love the one I currently have, but he is at Medical City Dallas, and that is almost an hour from my house. Can you guys recommend your ob/gyn's and whether or not you like them?

Welcome to the area! I used to go to a fabulous doctor in the area several years ago, but I stopped going to her because I started living in the Lewisville/Flower Mound area. Her name was Terri Elkins. I started going to her after the family doctor I was going to closed her practice. She was extremely knowledgeable, and she never talked down to me or sugar coated things like some doctors do. She was also very personable so I felt comfortable asking questions, and I always got answers that I could understand. I am not sure if she is still in practice because she was located at the Lancaster hospital on Pleasant Run, and that hospital went out of business about a year or so ago. It is definitely worth the research though if she is in practice.

My Ob/Gyn is located at Baylor Medical. Her name is Dr. Dana Bleakney and she is fabulous! Her nurse will always call me back within a day if I ever call with a question!

After a little research, it seems she had an accident that led her to stop practicing medicine. She is a professional bass fisher now. Interesting huh???

That is really interesting. It is amazing where life leads us sometimes huh? That is really too bad because she was an awesome doctor. It took me forever to find new obgyn that was good as her. I would suggest my current doctor as well, but she is at Presbyterian Hospital in far north Plano. Good luck on your search.
