You're a vet, right?  How much do x-rays of a dog's leg usually cost?  My dog must have hurt her leg and is afraid to sit now.  She slid on the floor last night while getting out of the tub after we gave her a bath. I was going to wait to take her to the vet, but I'm getting more concerned about her. :(

Re: **pakarufus**

  • although now I'm thinking it might be because she got her glands expressed yesterday.  do some dogs have pain after that?  she won't lift her tail much and usually she's knocking things off the coffee table when we come home, but today she was excited, but no wagging tail.

I'll probably get to see the vet before you have the time to answer, I just thought I'd throw it out there.  TIA!

  • Where I work it is around $75 for the first x-ray and then $40 for each additional one.  Dogs can have discomfort after having their glands done, that can make them not want to lift their tails.  I would be concerned about her cruciate ligament in her knee if she began to limp after slipping.  That can usually be diagnosed based on the exam.  Hopefully it is just a pulled muscle.  I hope she feels better soon.  Let me know what happens.
  • I called the vet a few min ago and they said that she had some redness back there to begin with (nice of them to tell us!), but she won't let me lift her tail to look now.  She does okay with squating to go to the bathroom (#1&2), but last night she did 3 circles around the living room to find a place to lay because she was uncomfortable. :(

We have an appointment at 1, I'll let you know.
