I would like to see a nutritionist to help prevent too much weight gain during pregnancy. This is at my doctor's advice since I am currently 30 pounds overweight.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Re: Pregnancy nutritionist?
I saw one weekly during my pregnancy, but it was part of my weekly OB visit. I was high - risk. Can your doctor recommend one to you?
Hopefully someone here can help. I know your 'name' has silver lake in it, but I'm going to ask any way - What area are you in?
I'm in the SFV(northridge/reseda area). During my pregnancy I had to write down everything I ate everyday. It was tough knowing I had to be totally accountable for everything that went into my body, but it really helped me grow a happy and healthy little one.
Being overweight to begin with, my pregnancy goal was to stay under(or very close to) 20-25 lbs. I managed to make it to 28 weeks gaining only 18lbs. and then water retention took over and by the time my daughter was born I gained another 42lbs. EEEEK! My total weight gain was 60lbs., 3 days after my daughter was born 30lbs was GONE! and by the time my 6wk pp appointment rolled around, all the baby weight disappeared. The only problem is that nothing is where it was, so half my clothes are still maternity. Never had a butt before, but now I pack much back. LOL.
If you have any questions, I'm happy to help. You can email me at: hotrodkittykat(@)yahoo(dot)com
Just some thoughts...have you already selected the hospital? If so, have you toured the labor & delivery, as well as seen the recover rooms and where the nursery is located. I beleive that if you take a similar tour of your chosen hospital, you will be introduced to the residing nurses and consultants. Perhaps they will have some nutritionist referrals.
Good luck! Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy!
